Joe Satriani guitar courses include elements of jazz, rock power chords and jazz rock. The music of Satriani has been popular among guitarists since the early 80s. Johns axe teaching achievements is a stream of creative contemporary music concepts rooted in the history of the electric guitar, that actually influenced Joe Satriani and Steve Vai as early as 1978.
You can hear many similarities in Mizarollis instrumental guitar music and the early 80s movement. That's because songs like Message From the 5th Stone on Johns debut album were the first of a genre of instrumental rock that influenced thousands of guitarists since. Lessons explaining the roots of this type of guitar art are extremely informative for guitarists.

Joe Satriani style guitar sessions are an opportunity to get closer to the whole world of instrumental rock and jazz music. Many aspects of a particular art of guitar playing are covered. Remind yourself of the vintage sound of the Rolling Stones and Deep
Purple in the 60s. Who would think jazzier guitarists like Satriani would eventually play on a Mick Jagger tour. Although Keith Richards admitedly was a more authentic, raw and stoneswise guitarist than Satriani, many different guitar tricks and techniques were introduced by the Satriani and Vai thought stream in the 80s.
All guitar techniques from pick tapping to right and left hand chord tapping are part of the Joe Satriani style analysis with John.

One of the most important elements of Joe Satrianis sound is learning how to procure a warm sound of guitar with a dominant blues and rock tone which is his trade mark. Many musicians have used this sound and in the courses you'll realize it's all in the fingers and the exercises you practise, not in the equipment. |
If you were impressed with the Joe Satriani albums Is There Love in Space, Not
of This Earth or Surfing With the Alien then book in some lessons to learn how to play these techniques. Check Mizarolli out, not to learn note by note,
but how to create albums like these for yourself. Put the characteristic feel of Satriani into
what you are playing. This is the perfect guitar tuition course for those who
really want to progress and have had enough of the rut they are in. |
John is qualified in classical guitar to a Royal Academy Standard but never talks about it. Why? In truth John says that reading music is an excellent talent to be mastered but he finds improvising a much higher art. If you want tuition for reading music, John can supply that service but states he can show you how to go about doing so in your own time without you having to pay for it! Buy some Bach sonatas and fugue for clarinet and violin and practise daily your sight reading.
It would be better and easier if you attempted reading music once you understand music theory, harmony and improvisation. Mizarolli has taught many struggling classical guitar teachers who actually taught at the Royal Academy Of Music. The emphasis on the word struggling is because they came to John to learn how to improvise! They admitted their classical education stunted their ability to improvise because they were stuck in front of a sheet of manuscript for years on end, with no effort to learn to compose, create or improvise. This is a rip really as most of the classical great composers were improvisers! John was the first self employed electric guitar teacher in the UK! Mizarolli.net was also the first guitar site in the UK!
