I know advanced guitar scales and harmony. I know how to play complex solos, so I suppose I am already a lead guitar virtuoso. I can shred to any neo classical metal track using all the machine gun rhythms and dropped tunings.

I never dreamed I would one day be a lead guitar virtuoso. A course at Music of the Spheres gave me the ability to develop into a lead guitar virtuoso. My adventure with guitar started when I met Mizarolli in London and he was the director of Music Of The Spheres guitar school, a studio and music school in London in 1988. What did it mean to be a lead guitar virtuoso?

Well believe me, listening to Mizarolli improvise in my guitar lessons showed me what it meant. He obviously was recruited by Ginger Baker, Creams drummer for good reason, namely, he is amazing!

It fascinated me how he was playing, my student and teacher relationship with John developed me into an inspirational guitar virtuoso. Attending those lessons was worth every penny – to know from the beginning about different guitar genres, guitar chords, guitar scales, blues harmony, advanced chord changes, music history, music classification, reading guitar tabs and practising real lead guitar virtuoso playing using altered modes, sweep technique etc.. gave me all knowledge to become a guitar virtuoso like John.

His requests weekly to produce a cassette of me soloing over different backing tracks, were very integral in my development as a student of serious guitar playing. As a teacher he observed me, listened to me, and unofficially produced me. His course is truly cosmic and now I understand how Hendrix himself became a lead guitar virtuoso by understand free form jazz as a backdrop to blues, rock, funk and classical.
