Learn To Play Left Handed Guitar

I am left handed and I start to learn how to play a left handed guitar of course. Those were special lessons to learn how to play a left handed guitar. It is more complicated than playing a normal guitar - by right hand. All the book diagrams appeared backwards, but the beauty was, the chord grids looked like a mirror which made it easier! I was very nervous and stressed before my first lesson. I wished for so many years to learn how to play a left handed guitar, but confronted with a proffesional guitar teacher was freaky. Then I thought, well Hendrix must have felt just like me! It was such a big dream, but the thought of an official lesson made me panic. Was I too old to start to learn how to play a left handed guitar, at 14? Too old?

Maybe you had to be a child prodigy and start at 3 or something? At the lesson my fingers were strangely rigid and my memory very weak. I even needed glasses to be able to read the guitar tabs. I didn't like the atmosphere, maybe the teacher was secretly laughing at me? All this paranoia was messing with my head. I soon grew to relax and enjoy my lessons. That's when I got good, when I stopped looking for a reward and I didn't care what anyone thought of my playing..... I just loved to play! I could have given up after only half an hour, got angry, embarrased myself then moaned all the way home.
