Learn the
A Minor Pentatonic Blues Scale. Penta means 5 and Tonic
means notes, so basically, you will be playing a Scale with only 5 Different Notes in it.
The notes in the A minor pentatonic blues scale are A, C, D, E & G, then
it completes the Octave, ending back on the A note.
Begin by slowly
learning this scale. If your new at learning tablature whether
in guitar tuition or learning on your own, a quick easy explanation
is:
The Lines represent the 6 Strings from low to high, from 6 to 1. Remember the thinnest string is top E and is the 1st string. The thickest is Bottom E and is the 6th string.
The Numbers on the Lines are the Fret Numbers.

Below is a D minor pentatonic blues scale. A whole guitar lesson can be spent showing you techniques and sequences that can be applied, thus varying the sound. The note names of the scale are beneath the guitar tablature.
A good effort is defined as a student who focuses during the course on sound quality, memorizing the notes, playing the applied techniques in meter, equal articulation and correct right and left hand technique and poise.
A pentatonic
minor scale, D pentatonic minor scale and E pentatonic minor
scale can all be used over a minor blues. The sound of each
scale against each particular chord is called Tonality. The chord-scale relationship in music is crucial. The minor 12-bar blues chord progression is

| Em | Dm | Am | Em |
Use Am Pentatonic Blues Scale over Am, Dm Pentatonic Blues Scale over Am & Dm and Am & Em Pentatonic Blues Scale over Am & Em.

Riff Building
A Riff is a series of notes taken from a Scale that may be used
to create a Repeated Rhythm or Melody inside of a song. Any tuition worth its
salt should teach you all about riff building.
So you need to know your scales and how construct Riffs, Chords and Licks from them. Most beginner lessons explain the formula for a
major scale by using whole steps or Tones and half steps or Semitones.
The center or beginning key in music theory is C major as there are no sharps and flats in its Key Signature. The notes
in the C major scale are C D E F G A B C and are number coded from 1 to 8.
The Major Scale, which sounds like Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Ti, Do has been used for creating classic Riffs, Songs, Nursery Rhymes, Hymns, Pop Tunes, Star Wars Themes, and many Rock Anthems.
All Musicians in the history have used this scale also known as the Ionian Mode. The notes in the scale are known as diatonic notes.
John's courses cover many different
scales. Blues and Diatonic Scales lead to understanding Chords and Harmony.
If NLP Principles are applied to Music, fantastic results are achieved.
It's better to take one to one sessions as opposed to classes.
If your a total beginner guitarist, all the hip music Jargon and terminology will baffle you. Professional tuition just lightens the load, speeds up the practical result and stops you wasting years on the wrong stuff!
